This hospital was rebuilt on its original site in order to isolate the structure from earthquakes. The project revamped the lab, dispensary, energy plant and nutrition department that occupied the old wing, while the cramped emergency room and Ambulatory Chemotherapy Center that were in the main building were relocated to a new wing that provided great functional improvements to services and an environment that ensured patient privacy. Moreover, corridors that connect the new wing with the main building serve as the hospital's spine and ensure movement on each floor, while industrial-grade elevators add functionality.
